The spot

'Meltemi' wind is the trademark of the Cyclades Islands for the summer time. Strong, steady Northern winds, usually picking up in the morning, reaching top force around midday and dying out in the afternoon gives you planning action almost every day of the summer. The venue for our windsurfers is endless with no limitations, no reefs and no rocks or annoying sea urchins.
Plaka beach is facing southwest and the wind comes side shore allowing radical flat water windsurfing for a line of 400-500 meters. Further offshore the strong wind and the big waves create perfect conditions for wave riding, jumps and radical wave action.
For the first 100 meters off the beach, due to the natural structure of the waterbed, even when it is very windy, the water is relatively calm, so beginners are able to practice on their own or take lessons guided by our instructors. After this point the wind becomes steady and the water flat, perfect for freestyle and slalom.
Our motorboat and rescue boat are always standing by, and our people are constantly on guard with binoculars for the safety of the wind surfers.
